Total Freedom: A Testimony

Seven years and three days ago, I stood within my church’s auditorium in Philadelphia, PA. Many were in the crowd, and amongst the witnesses were my sister and eldest nephew. Standing tall with my back stretched, I publicly declared and confessed Jesus Christ as both Lord (and Messiah) of my life. And boldly so.

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father (YAHUAH), the Son (YAHUSHA), and the Holy Ghost (RUACH HAQODESH).”

Matthew 28:19 KJV/ Names from the Cepher Bible.

Before my baptism, women who studied the Bible with me over the past year shared stories of how they met me and expressed how proud they were of me. It felt right, and it was good. I walked over to the large tub of water. Stepping in the water, I recall noticing the comfortability of its temperature. I, then, sat down in the water, folded my arms across my chest and proceeded to lay backwards. The women around me began assisting me until I was totally submerged into water.

“[H}ave you forgotten that all of us who were immersed into union with Jesus, the Anointed One, were immersed into union with His death? Sharing in His death by our baptism means that we were co-buried with Him, so that when the Father’s glory raised Christ from the dead, we were also raised with Him. We have been co-resurrected with Him so that we could be empowered to walk in the freshness of new life.”

Romans 6:3-4 TPT

Raising to my feet, I stood to the cheers and applause of my new family in the Faith as they welcomed me into the family. My excitement could not be contained as I stepped out of the tub to hug my friends. That day I was 2 of 3 people who were baptized. We call ourselves triplets. Haha.

“teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always [remaining with you perpetually—regardless of circumstance, and on every occasion], even to the end of the age.” – Jesus Christ

Matthew 28:20 AMP

When I think back over my 7th year journey, I am filled with awe at how the LORD pursued me. I am so grateful to him for the many people He has placed into my life. I would not have intentionally sought the LORD had not a man in his late 40s reached out to me on a college campus. I may not have taken him seriously, had his wife not open up her home and heart for me. Or her willingness to do life with me.

I may have gotten discouraged and quit a long time ago, if it had not been for a friend’s prayers or the wife of my Pastor’s loving rebuke and correction. Most importantly, I do not think I would have made it through studying God’s Word or life, even, without my big sister (in the Faith) who has helped me to mature as a woman of God and has kept me focus on Jesus. She remains consistent and humble.

The journey I have shared does not come close to everything that the Most High has done within my life. Every single man, woman and child were encounters guided and led by the Holy Spirit (RUACH HAQODESH). By one man’s decision to be obedient 8 years ago, I was able to walk in TOTAL freedom a year later. Not-to-mention, I gained a Christ-like family (Acts 2: 42-47). I also regained and reclaimed my biological family back. Praise Yah!

All the glory belongs to Christ Jesus alone. I thank God for one man’s boldness for Christ, that I now have a biological sibling who is a disciple of Jesus Christ and is raising her children up in the church. Over the years, I have seen an aunt, cousins, my brother and my mother all come to church. I was most surprised when my father began attending my church and studying the Bible.

My father had been an unbeliever and a blasphemer for most of my life. Fervently praying for my dad’s repentance, I became excited for the possibility of him becoming a Disciple of Jesus Christ one day. With an unfortunate turn of events, my father passed away two months ago unexpectedly. Instead of wondering “what if,” I rejoice in knowing that I shared my faith with my father, and I trust that the LORD is just.

Before Christ, I would have told you all that none of these were possible: me repenting and surrendering, my family getting along and my father studying the Bible. However, one of the biggest lessons and now testimonies that the LORD has shown me is: anything is possible in Him through those who believe in His Son, Jesus Christ. ANYTHING. I have seen harden hearts softened, liars tell the truth and miracles. Jesus Christ is ALIVE! I praise the LORD, the God and Father of Jesus Christ for year 7 in Him. I’d rather grow older in the LORD. And here’s to more of Jesus, Anointed One, in my life today and to come! (God willing).

A Pray For You

YAHUAH, Abba, Father!

My God! Praise and Honor to Your name. LORD, I ask that you watch over the men and women who have and who will find my blog. I pray for Your leading and guidance in their lives. I pray for their private lives to be transformed, changed, revived, in Jesus Christ’s name.

I pray for you to perform miracles in their lives where there is no hope. I pray for their families to turn (or return) to Jesus while He may be found. I pray against any and all demonic attacks on their health, finances and home-life.

May they find strength in You and in Your Word. Give them a desire, a hunger and thirst for Your Word (The Bible). Block any and all distractions.

My God – The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, raise up Your people to fight in prayer. Move their lips and direct their hearts. May no man (kind) or spirit place fear into our hearts! Increase our Faith and shatter and destroy fear.

You are our God! Grant us all our daily provisions and forgive us all of our sins as we forgive others. It is in Your Holy Name (YAHUAH), we pray. Amen.
